Project background, status, and caveats
The value of the project depends on transparent technical intent—not on claims of official status or permanent institutional backing.
5.1Why this /48 exists
The prefix is drawn from a Provider Independent IPv6 allocation and was selected from address space that was already outside the operator's active production plan and covered by broader discard routing. One /48—one two-hundred-and-fifty-sixth of the parent /40—was set aside for the model documented here.
The specific ad value was selected because it is short, visually distinctive, and easy to recognize in addresses and configurations. It has no formal protocol meaning.
5.2Routing posture
The block is intentionally withheld from production routing. Origin-side discard routes and RPKI policy, including an AS0 posture, are intended to make ordinary public propagation invalid or unattractive to route-validating networks.
These controls materially distinguish the block from an arbitrary GUA selected without the holder's knowledge. They do not create a universal technical guarantee across every network or every future circumstance.
5.3Independent project status
No official designation
This is not an IETF RFC, an Internet Standard, an IANA special-purpose allocation, an ARIN service, or a vendor-supported addressing product.
The project is operated by a semi-retired private individual, not by a corporation, standards body, foundation, or large endowment. The registration, routing policy, documentation, and hosting are maintained at personal expense.
Continued control of the parent allocation, maintenance of the routing safeguards, operation of this website, and long-term persistence of the project cannot be guaranteed indefinitely. Users should account for that fact in their own risk analysis.
